Thanksgiving is my favorite time of year. I love everything about it: getting together with family, good food, the change in season, warm sweaters, first snow… but this year feels a little different for me. We are going into our 6th year as a firm and I am feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude for all I have.
My practice focuses on working as a team and solving problems. There are so many wonderful attorneys, financial advisors and therapists in my community that help our clients. They have become lifelong friends and a vital part of my team. The challenges our clients face are not small and knowing there are professionals out there who will join me in creating solutions makes me very thankful.
I am grateful for my clients; they are why I became a lawyer. I know the holidays are a difficult time for many of our clients. They are good people going through tough times. Whether they have lost a loved one this year or are experiencing the holiday for the first time with a new family dynamic, this can be a very challenging time. I am so thankful that our clients have decided to allow my team the privilege of helping them. I hope that we provide not only legal counsel but a shoulder to lean on during this transition in their life. I am inspired by our clients every day to see what strength can come from adversity.
I am very thankful for the team at Morneau Law. Everyone on my team truly loves what they do and they see the bigger picture. It’s not about work for them; it’s about helping people. I often wonder how I became so lucky to find such amazing people to take this journey with. I have the best office manager and business partner who helps me with every aspect of managing the firm. Frank challenges me to think outside the box and do things differently as they should be done not how they always have been done.
My paralegals, Alycia, Abbey and Karrie go above and beyond to warmly welcome new clients, to assist our current clients and to support the team. I often hear from clients that they feel like more than a client; they feel like a friend. I know this is in large part because my paralegals sincerely care about each of our clients. Our paralegals each bring a unique skill set to the team and I don’t know what we would do without them.
The lawyers at Morneau Law are some of the most driven and dedicated lawyers out there. Liz, Sarah and Sara constantly strive to come up with innovative solutions to our client’s needs. We have a different structure at Morneau Law where there is a lead attorney for every case but we work as a team and brainstorm each case and situation to find the best solution. I am so proud of the integrity and high standards for which they hold themselves to and the compassion they each have for our clients. I am a better lawyer for working with them.
I have never been more fulfilled in my career as I am now and cannot imagine another way of life. I am thankful for all I have this year. I wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving.
